candace cole MD

Candace is a medical doctor, acupuncturist, and teacher with 20 years experience in family medicine, and 13 years as an elementary and college level teacher and group facilitator. For over a decade she has travelled among, worked and studied with indigenous healers and teachers in Tibet, China, Africa and here at home in Canada.

Her current practice of acupuncture and Chinese medicine at Ango has been partly shaped by these inspirational men, women and healing systems, but the greatest contributors of all have been her patients themselves. Listening deeply is her greatest intention and skill.

Candace was initially drawn away from her field of education, into medical practice, by her keen interest in the relationship between an individual's mindset and their health. As a family physician she incorporated her interests in palliative care, clinical hypnotherapy, pain management, a pro-active approach to cultivating wellness.

Her primary goal as a healing practitioner is to assist in the restoration and rebalancing of an individual's own capacity and energy towards their highest possible state of well-being.

In addition to her hands-on treatments, Candace consults with her patients to help them develop and implement a personal health and wellness plan just right for them.

There can be a lot to consider in our health care approach, especially at times when a change in our physical, emotional or spiritual well-being is occurring. Surgery, injury, diagnostic procedures, a new diagnosis, treatment options, a challenging life situation, or a new intention to live more healthfully, all require us to make choices and adjustments. Yet accessing and wading through the information we need to make the best choices is often time-consuming and bewildering.

At these times, talking over our concerns and questions with an experienced, caring healer can be most beneficial, helping to replace worries and confusion with clarity and confidence.

With Candace's integrated knowledge of both Western and Eastern medical practice, and her holistic understanding of the body/mind/spirit connection, she is able to offer her patients well-informed and compassionate guidance and support.
